Why A Fluoride Treatment May Be Right For You

As time goes on, our teeth endure ebbs and flows of Fluoride loss and intake – we naturally lose some and regain some based on the foods we eat and the water we drink. However, as teeth begin to demineralize, the balance of Fluoride swings in favor of “not enough” and action must be taken to mitigate the chance of tooth decay. This is where Fluoride Treatments come into play!

These treatments are designed to proactively defend against tooth decay that stems from acid and bacteria build up in the mouth. If your teeth and roots are sensitive, Fluoride treatment may considerably reduce the sensitivity. If you are losing Fluoride faster than you’re gaining it, you may be a candidate for a topical Fluoride treatment.

The Fluoride Treatment Process:

  • We will examine your teeth and gums to ensure this treatment is right for you
  • You will undergo a thorough teeth cleaning to remove excess plaque, tartar and food-based debris
  • After a thorough rinse, the topical Fluoride gel/varnish is applied to each individual tooth with a small brush

The entire process takes less than 2 minutes to complete. After the treatment is complete, it is advised that you wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking to allow the Fluoride to fully dry and take effect.
